HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene) is a petrochemical synthetic polymer and is not bio-degradable. HIPS is a fairly strong polymer but it can also be easily dissolved in Limonene. If you have a dual extruder, you can print HIPS (as a support material) with ABS and use Limonene as a solvent to dissolve HIPS from the printed objects and create the very complex 3D objects that are impossible to make without the support material.
